  •  THE STAT LINE: The Cal-bound Baker won three events at the Bay Shore Athletic League championships. Her triple jump mark of 40 feet, 41/2 inches and long jump mark of 19-0 set school records, and the long jump mark broke her own BSAL record. She also won the high jump.

  •  THE STAT LINE: The Spartans' ace pitched and hit well during a four-game stretch last week. Against Alameda, she allowed no earned runs, pitching a complete game and striking out 10 in a 6-3 win. The next day, she allowed just one earned run in a complete-game, 2-1 loss to Concord. During the week, she also hit two home runs.

  •  THE STAT LINE: In the Mission Valley Athletic League playoffs, Leon went a combined 4-for-7 with two RBI, a run and a walk. Leon delivered the game-winning hit with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning that gave Newark a 4-3 win over James Logan in the championship game.

  •  THE STAT LINE: Nanfria played a key role in the Wolves' first North Coast Section girls team title last week at Concord Community Pool. She set, or was part of, school records in all four of her events and earned All-American times in three. In the 200 freestyle relay the Wolves had an All-American consideration mark.

  •  THE STAT LINE: Wells won all three of her individual events at the DVAL Championships and also ran a leg on the Eagles' winning 400-meter relay team. Clayton Valley finished second in the team standings at the meet, and Wells was named the Girls Most Valuable Athlete at the meet.
